About KKN

Hello. I’m Nite Phire. I bought this domain on June 19, 2004. It holds a special meaning to me. Roughly translated from Japanese, “Ketsu Kaiten” means “Blood Revolution.” [Note: I don't know enough Japanese to assure you that that's one hundred percent correct, so if it's not, that's what I mean it to be!] I know, I know. At first this seems vulgar and what not, but just read on. In life, you can’t gain anything without giving something in return. Revolutions hardly ever occur without war and bloodshed. To quote Fullmetal Alchemist, “To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is the law of equivalent exchange.” I believe this is one of the few truths in life, and therefore have tried to shape my lifestyle around it. This doesn’t mean I’m starting a governmental revolution or anything, it just means that I welcome change and believe that it must be accompanied by some degree of loss, even if it is only time and effort.

This domain serves as my network/collective site. I run various other sites on subdomains. These include a content site, fanlistings, and my blog/personal site. The domain is hosted by DreamHost on a Debian Linux server. It is allotted 500GB+ of diskspace and 5TB+ of monthly bandwidth. It runs on Apache, PHP 5, and MySQL 5. The domain itself costs $9.99 a year, and the hosting costs $6.95 a month.

Currently, I am using two scripts on the domain which I did not code myself. These are WordPress (and a few associated plug-ins) and Simple Machines Forums. All other coding and graphics are done by me unless noted elsewhere.
